Children love cartoons. If you’re looking for a way to engage children in an activity, cartoons are ideal.
Scartoons has developed a range of cartoon workshops. Not only do we teach children to draw cartoons, we also get them to use their imaginations in creating their own characters; and then they get to draw their characters having adventures! Through these adventures, children learn about story-telling, how punctuation is actually important, and the relevance of presentation.
Not only this, but there’s now the option to have the cartoons made into a unique comic for the school to sell!

Cartoon workshops are available in the following packages:
All day cartoon workshop as above, but with a printed comic containing all the comic strips from the day, as well as drawing tips from Scartoons. Every child gets their comic strip printed in the publication. The school then sells the comics to recoup the cost of the workshop. The workshops are priced according to the number of copies the school requires. (This means there is potentially no net cost to the school, in fact, it could even create profits for School Funds!)
Comics can be priced by the school as required. For example, if a school orders 200 copies and sells 150 at £5 each, this results in a profit of £150 for the school funds.
£500 - assembly, 4 class workshops and 100 copies of the comic for the school to sell
£600 - assembly, 4 class workshops and 200 copies of the comic for the school to sell.
Whole day workshops
A class creates a class comic over a whole day. The children each create their own unique character, then draw a cartoon strip using the cartooning skills developed with Simon over the day. Every child has a cartoon strip in the comic. The workshop sessions can be adapted to deliver key literacy skills, art skills or concepts such as citizenship or British Values. Whole day workshops cost £300.

Short Class workshops
One hour workshops where the children learn to create a cartoon character from scratch, under expert tutelage. Schools can book up to 5 for a day. Each workshop costs £100.
A 10-15 minute whole school assembly showcasing our artist’s drawing skills. The children help him design a mascot character for the school. Available for £50.
